Who are we?

Photography allows us to remain in our environment, investigates its environment and shows the information that has been gathered through the work of art as a means of communication. Therefore, the close link between art production and its historical context allows that, although the recording of its environment has not been a priority for the artist, through the works of art it is possible to obtain information about the culture from which it comes.

Mission

The pedagogical project “One Image, One History” is based on the proposal to conceive the social function of art, specifically photography as a cultural means to know and learn about other societies or contexts based on the precept of photography.

Visión

This website from all the material to work, is a teacher that actively promotes the formation with the possibilities of pedagogical-reflective articulation and the knowledge reached so far.

Essentially, it is a social space inspired by the values and reflections that sustain each of the photographs.

What would be the function that Art should have in society?

The functions of art are multiple, mutable, combinable with each other and dependent on a context. Art, and specifically photography, is understood as the manifestation of human activity, and from this a personal and disinterested vision is expressed that interprets the real or imagined with plastic, linguistic or sound resources.

The question is whether art allows the reflection of human culture, so it serves to preserve the cultural heritage of a people and to transmit it from generation to generation. Moreover, it is subjective, it is expressed in a universal language that is understandable to any human being, since it appeals to our senses, emotions and powers of thought.

Education today is still based on works of art from the past, because these – in their different manifestations – have never lost their importance for society.
